geographical psychology

I always wondered how people belonging to different location think and act differently. I am speaking in a generic manner.
The geographic distance might not be 1000 miles or different continents, but we can find differences in two different cities as close as 100km or so. I wonder weather its really have to do with geographical conditions prevailing in that location or has to
to with like minded people getting settled at one place.

We can say cultural/caste differences make people think in similar manner. But there are people who follow same culture, belong to same caste, speak same language, but live in different locations and their thinking differs( people of Davangere, Shimoga or Dharwad think differently ). So can we say geography plays a major role in grooming people in a good or bad way.

Still thinking.......

I think it s more to do with the environmental set-up in every location that molds the behavior and thinking pattern of people living there.

My views can be debatable, but i believe its greatly influenced by the culture prevailing in the area. if you have a particular community which is predominant, obviously the culture of that community is going to be reflected in the behavioral patterns of the people…if it’s a sparsely populated area, you tend to be more understanding towards other people’s opinions, because at the end of the day, they are the only ones to fall back on!! On the other hand if it’s a cosmo like Bangalore…u dnt want to take chances, it then becomes a survival instinct!!

I guess its lot to do with immediate/closest group of people you’re influenced by. For example, Lot of how I act has to do with my immediate group and thats my family. So next group could be my friends circle in college I study. Next might be sadhu lingayat community in davangere. So society keeps fragmenting/slicing it self in the form of spiral/concentric rings with you on the center and smallest circle nearest to you(center) having highest effect on you.Thats why we see difference in how people connect with each other socially and emotionally from place to place. This difference becomes bigger and bigger as you travel across several miles. So these social rings around a person play major role in his/her upbringing and instilling core beliefs that becomes very hard to unlearn/change(if these beliefs are untrue) later point in life if one never get a chance to grow at different places. However if one gets an option to live or grow around in different place and experience people and culture and this person is not indifferent/insensitive then he might fall in moment of Chaos trying to figure out what is right(Hopefully he figures out).On the other hand if a person always lives in preconcieved notions, actually its fine to be have any notion but if its part of your core beliefs and he is fanatic about it then its hard to learn the truth and experience new things
In brief all I meant is one is influenced greatest by closet social rings around him with ring farthest having least influence. However when he moves out of this social setting to different place/group his center relocates to different set of rings

Answer is in only one word "Opportunity".

Only opportunity makes them think differently.
Opportunity is a big word. Think in deep about it.
